Here i will present a little exploration of what it means to think this way. I have placed a short summarise of these thoughts into the Method page. Again, contact me if You have any questions or comments.
keep it real
Let me start off with the two most important things for when You decide to do anything with this website: honesty and taking care.
Don't make Yourself believe something that is not safe, in case it doesn't work as intended. That is not doubting, that is being smart. You care for Your life? Then be careful.
Truth is something that per definition overrules everything else. It's the only thing You'll get away with, the thing that You will keep waking up to. It's not pleasant to wake up from a nice lie, a beautiful dream, or an apathetic state induced by Your TV to find out that You haven't actually done what You wanted to do.
So be honest to keep Yourself from experiencing something less than You can.
protagonist, story, writer
To get a better idea about the impact of the theory i am going to compare this world to a book.
What You experience is the Story, of which You are the Protagonist as it revolves around You, Your actions, Your feelings, Your life. And Your Story is one of many in this book of the world.
This Story is continuously developing. There isn't a moment without change. There are the objects in Your mind and the logic behind their relationships (the way they interact). In essence what You have here is a self regulating Story, or a Writer on autopilot.
If You in all honesty would suddenly believe that the theory is true, and it happens to actually be true, You would be the one determining the Story: the Writer. There would be no law to bind You in the Story, safe for the ones You make up, and You would be responsible for all that happens in the Story as soon as You assume this role, be it good or bad.
What we are looking for is transitioning You from the role of Protagonist towards the role of the Writer. From believing that there is a physical and a mental, to understanding that the physical is part of the mental.
material spirits
Acknowledging that You are in fact the Writer of Your Story and not merely the Protagonist, You transcend Your body. The Protagonist and its body are just part of Your mental display. If You believe Your life as the Protagonist would end one day, what would the real You experience?
theory on theory
The theory is all about what is true and what isn't. Therefore the theory applies to itself as well: the validity of the theory itself is also, even if it seems entirely (il)logical or (dis)proven, up to Your belief or knowledge. If You in no way believe that this theory holds any truth, then applying it should not work either.
By merely understanding the theory itself You already draw the things You want towards You: If the world is up to Your belief there is no reason to let it be anything else than a manifestation of Your true will. There is a difference though between knowing what should happen, and making it happen (knowing what is happening).
using the now
To find out how we can change our way of thinking, our beliefs, we can look at how we did this so far, look at other people who have had a lot of success with it, and consciously try it out for ourselves to see what obstacles we run in to. The art of make belief.
For example, one of the reasonably successful things in this world already created to form beliefs and knowledge is our educational system. We might be able to start off by simply replicating this method, involving repetition, rehearsing, models, exercises and an authority with expectations.
Another useful thing is called science. It slowly but surely writes down the way this world functions through massive trial and error. It's a little slow but it is becoming familiar with Your beliefs of what is true. Science is very useful to get an idea of where You are at right now, the current state of reality. You see, even if You think that You somehow know all there is to this world, how well do You think You know Yourself? Science is there to create possibilities, not restrictions. Every answer leads to more questions, to more possibilities.
getting personal
Maybe You have noticed how personal these thoughts have made the world. Your point of view is shaped by emotions, parents, school, and other things that You experience. Not someone else but You.
This interaction between You the world and Your mind is quite strong. For example, cleaning Your room is a great way to sort out Your mind. There is a reason for witches to use brooms. When Your mind is clear You will find it much easier to work with the mind.
the normal
Because this world is so personal, You create Your norms through Your actions and reactions. How You respond to Your situation basically shows what You see as normal. And what You honestly believe to be normal, will be reflected by the world. So if You get used to success, or to being a good person, chances are that if You keep it up it will become the norm. Sounds a bit like karma, doesn't it?
The more You look into this subject and spend time experiencing Your goals as vividly as You can, the more normal they become.
thanks
Of course what we are basically attempting is to be more positive. Convincing Yourself of things You want in the light of this theory is simply positive thinking.
One thing that has helped me with obtaining a more optimistic point of view is actually showing gratitude. A simple affirmation of the things You like. Cause there are plenty things You like but sometimes that's not what You're looking at. What i do is whenever i come across something that i like, i say within myself to nobody in particular "thanks for letting the sun shine" or whatever it is that i really enjoy.
pay attention
The more You focus on something the more You see of it. The more You see something the more normal it becomes. People call it selective perception.
You can use this to change the norm of reality in Your favour. The more You look into this subject the more normal it will appear to You. As will Your goals, the more You toy around with them.
all tied up
This current reality holds on to You through necessities. You have to breathe, pay taxes, show up on appointments, take care of relationships. And every time You think You need to do something like this, it further establishes Your old take on reality. It may be beneficial to have as little of those tie-ins to the current reality as possible.
This doesn't mean that You should stop doing the things that You must do. As long as You are convinced that these things are vital or of importance, they are. What You can do however, is to try to limit the amount of necessities that You create in life. Less appointments, less responsibilities, less routine.
connecting dots
But it isn't as simple as ignoring the things You don't want in life and looking at all the nice things since the world consists of more than objects. There are also the relationships between those objects; the system. If You stand on the railroad and choose to ignore a train heading Your way, then You may not see much of the train running You over but the end result is the same. No matter how little of a train there was in Your perception, You know that getting hit by one is pretty fatal.
expanding awareness
You are somewhat conscious of every little thing going on, or it wouldn't be going on. What You focus on is always a very small part of the world. We see so little of most things in this world that we don't say we are aware of them. What we call consciousness or awareness is but a small part of that complete consciousness. The things we are fully unaware of are things we cannot even talk about, since we don't know what they are.
To become familiar with how our mind adapts/the world changes, You might find some use in expanding that every day consciousness to gain insight in how Your full mind adapts/the whole world changes. The trick is to become more aware of what is already going on, not to think of more new things (expanding the world). The world is as complex as You make it.
conflicts
Something You will inevitably run into is that new knowledge will seem to conflict with old. That is logical since You are doing something that seems to go against Your experience so far.
You shouldn't struggle, as in trying to think the same thing ever harder to overcome the idea that You're thinking wrong. Instead of changing Your mind it primarily strains Your mind. You're better off taking a different approach. Remind Yourself that Your experience so far is based on the old way of thinking. Changing Your mind isn't an effort, it is as hard as You make it; merely a choice.
Some things are harder to believe than others. If You feel a bit too certain about a seemingly conflicting thought or thoughts, then You may want to adjust Your goals to something smaller and easier first. Don't start running before You know how to walk.
connected
Our mind consists of connections, associations. So in that sense everything is connected. If all connections to a thought disappear then the thought becomes non existent to You.
If You want to make something real, You may want to associate it as much as You can with reality. There are several ways You could use this knowledge.
You could write truth on Your notice board in Your living room, and decorate it with pictures or articles of the things You really really like. Or perhaps stick post-its with the word "thought" on to all the objects in Your bedroom, to remind You how everything is thought up.
Another way to use the mind's connections is by using associations already strongly related to reality. Like those of possession. My pencil, is a pencil that is very real, something that can be taken from me or given to another. When You want to make something real, it may be a good idea to get accustomed to the idea of it being Yours.
Another good idea is preparing Yourself to meet Your desired situation. It helps Your motivation by reminding Yourself of what You really wanted and it is also strongly associated with things that will truly happen.
imagine
Imagine the things You are looking for vividly, in all detail. Experiencing those things in Your mind can help You determine whether it truly is something You want. If You don't know what You want Your goal will change every time You work on it and Your focus will be scattered.
It's also a great way to find the things that are obstructing You from and Your goals. Probably You still find it hard to believe that it can be real with the method You are using to make it happen.
me here?
The one You're trying to change here is You Yourself. Whatever You decide to do, make sure it is something that makes an impression on You. If You are feeling too accustomed to playing the role of Protagonist or strongly believe there is a God entity, You could even imagine the Writer, the true You, as an 'external' entity with whom You can interact (for example through prayer).
duality
Ascertaining Yourself that one thing is true means little if You are just as certain about contradictory thoughts. Since nothing is for sure, everything is true in a way. Some things are just more true than others. In this light it might be a good idea to also focus on showing Yourself why opposing thoughts are wrong or at least less likely.
Neuroscience experiments show it might not be a good idea to use the word 'not' when working this way, since we still associate things with whatever terms we use after 'not'. Use false instead of 'not true', wrong instead of 'not right', etc.
Even refuting ridiculous random claims can help get it through to Your mind that You're not just making everything more plausible, just the things that You actually want.
get up out of that comfy chair
When You consciously work on Your programming You may start to wonder when Your goals will actually be met. The world appears in the most logical way You think of as do Your goals. Theoretically there doesn't have to be any form of delay. But if You're honest, chances are You feel it's more likely for You to obtain money by participating in a contest than it being spontaneously materialized in Your wallet.
The most credible way for Your goals to appear usually involves Your active participation and time.
measurement
As You come to realize that Your mind is the world, it will change some things in this world. You can use those changes to (vaguely) see whether You are making any progress in thinking this new way. The world is Your measurement. You could look at how personal the world has become (increasingly influenced by Your feelings and thoughts). Things will become more alike Your will and there will be less mistakes. You'll be right more often since You become aware that in reality You already have all the answers. The world will be less competitive, since there is no need to take anything if You can just let it be. Etc.
You could also think of a simple test to see whether Your method of understanding and creation is working. Like throwing dice or reading cards. To do these tests accurately You have to think things through before You start. You need to know the odds of guessing something right, how many repetitions You need to get an accurate percentage, how often cards are shuffled; all sorts of things.
