More Thoughts

Here i will present a little exploration of the idea in practice. Again, contact me if You have any questions or comments.

Be honest and awake.
First off, don't make yourself believe something that is not safe, in case it does not work out as intended. That is not a matter of lacking faith, that is being smart.
It is not pleasant to wake up from a beautiful dream, so make sure you are being honest to yourself about all of this. To keep yourself from experiencing something less than you can.

There is a need to look into this.
The simplicity, resilience and potential of the idea make it mandatory for anyone who values living more than a dream to look into its validity. It can change our ideas of very important things like choice, responsibilities, errors, time, and the idea behind our actions. It might allow for news ways to change reality.

The idea applies to itself.
The idea is all about what is true and what isn't. Therefore the idea applies to itself as well: just like everything else, the validity of the idea itself is up to your way of thinking. If you in no way believe that this idea holds any truth, then applying it should not work either. If you want to work with the idea it is only possible if it is true and if you are convinced that it is true.

There is still a hurdle to take.
If the world is the way you think, there is no reason to let it be anything else than what you want. Yet there is a subtle difference between knowing what should happen, and making it so (i.e. actually knowing that it is so).
Which appears to be a big hurdle for us to take. This is easy to show.
Whether the idea is true or conventional thinking is true makes no difference here. It isn't easy for someone to accept the idea of this website as truth, and to change his/her knowledge with it.

The body, the mind.
If the world is your mind, it changes the idea of having a self. Ultimately this websites idea would imply that all is choice, if you were to be convinced of that the idea is right. This includes the body and all its traits that you experience to possess. The person that you experience this world through would be more of a protagonist of the story that you think of than that it would be your actual self. Rules that apply to the human mind that we know of do not necessarily apply to the mind that is this world. But our ability to change our mind may be quite similar to the abilities of the human mind until we find a way to let go of that idea.

There is a need to misunderstand.
If the idea is correct and we would fully realize this in the world as it is now, the world would lose all meaning. There would be no need for anything, no goal to attain or dream to pursue. To sustain a reality, or even to get as close as possible to the best reality you could think of, it is necessary (for now?) to maintain a bit of a misunderstanding. The idea is to not be tied to reality but to hold on to reality.

Pick your goals wisely.
Some things are easier to believe than others. It may be best to start small.
Try to imagine your goals thoroughly beforehand, so that you know exactly what it is you want. That way your goals don't change all the time.

Use the present.
If we aren't that easily convinced of the idea, we are still somewhat stuck to the reality we believe to be part of right now. We could use the current world to get a better hold on what we think to be true. For example by looking at people and media that are successful at it, and systems that are designed to do just that. Like the educational system and some religious systems.
They use repetition, status, group formation, etc.

Use a new way of thinking.
When you think of something it will normally create a sort of imaginary experience within reality which is very unstable and short lived. It is hardly present or connected to reality. That is the way you are used to think about things. Those thoughts are very different from the things you consider real. What you are really doing when you think of something that way is this: you are convinced, that you are thinking of something. You think it is real, that you think of something. In other words, normally you are not working with your thoughts on what is real, but you are working with the thoughts that you think to be thinking.
So you have to take one step back. You don't have to think in reality as you normally do, but you change your thoughts on reality. You (re)think reality itself.

Do more than think.
The idea doesn't rule out other methods to meet your goals. Since all things real are thought, all your traditional ways of influencing reality are ways of rethinking what is real. You can do both to try and meet your goals.

Impress yourself.
Whatever method you use to change reality, it doesn't have to be subtle. To have a big impact on the mind it's best to do it in a way that really impresses yourself.

Use labels.
The mind consists of connections or associations and we categorize all information into groups. So in that sense everything around us is connected and drawn to its kind. If all connections to a thought disappear then the thought becomes non existent.
You may want to associate your goals as much as you can with reality or other things already strongly related to reality. Like probability, normality, necessity or possession. Something that is mine or yours tends to be very real.

Take down obstacles.
Don't ignore obstacles. Realize that every obstacle is an opposing thought and can be changed by changing your mind.
Thinking of ridiculous opposing thoughts and taking them down on purpose can help when you have the idea that you are making every thought become more probable, and not just the thoughts that you actually want.

Who does good, meets good.
Be positive, because changing what you think based on what you want, is essentially assuming a realistically more positive mentality. If you can get used to things being positive, it will become normal to you for things to be positive. A good way to acknowledge positive things is to show gratitude. Not necessarily to someone in particular.
The same thing applies to your actions and feelings. Someone who is happy will find more happiness, and if you act nicely in everyday situations that will tend to be the norm.

Test effectiveness.
Nobody can test for you the effectiveness of a method to consciously change what someone beliefs to be true. You can only know for yourself whether it works. However that should be pretty easy to do.
You could test it on something simple like influencing the throw of a dice. If you want to seriously test whether your method is having any results you should keep in mind that repeating your method for some time might influence results. You have to be very careful how you test it, or you may find yourself wasting your time. For instance, tests are often unreliable when it involves guesswork or prediction.

Results take the path of least resistance.
When you consciously work on your mental programming you may wonder when your goals will actually be met if not instantly. The world appears in the most logical way you think of, and so do your goals. The most credible way for your goals to appear usually involves your active participation in bringing it about. Ideally there doesn't have to be any form of delay or effort involved. But as things are, chances are that it's more likely for you to meet your goal by actively doing something about it rather than it spontaneously materializing in front of you.

Keep track of positive results.
To give you a foothold to keep going. If you experience resistance or failure, you shouldn't ignore that either. This is a learning process and we're just exploring ways to make it work, so that may take a while. Every step should be seen as a step towards success. If you give up on it then it's over.

No need to spread it.
If the idea is correct then every thing and person in reality represents a bit of your mind. You may consider spreading what you want to believe among others in order to convince parts of your mind. I don't think it works that way. What you are changing are details. Simple thoughts about the rules or some tiny bits in reality. They can influence everything, as it's all connected in some way. But those are the only thoughts that you need to work with. The rest just responds.

We have the best of intentions.
I don't see any reason for a conscious being to intent to do anything else than what he or she thinks is best at that moment in time. The thing that hinders the actualization of this pure intention in all of us is at first sight twofold:
1. Our misunderstanding of what is best and how to get there.
2. The inability to do what we want, or the limitations laid upon us by reality.
With the idea in mind that the world is as you think, the idea of true limitations laid upon us by reality becomes a misunderstanding itself. The only difference between a criminal and a saint is the situation and the understanding of what is best and how to get there, or in other words their form of misunderstanding. Their intent is likely the same, to do what they think is best.

Our conflict in reaching our ultimate goal.
What we think of as best is always something that leads to the ideal situation for anyone to be in. It's the situation in which whatever we want to be true is true. Of all the things we want, we want to reach that ideal situation to an infinite extend. But in every day life that is not our goal as it seems unattainable.
Instead we reach for something as close as possible to that ideal situation. Everything en route to that ideal situation is what we want and what we call good. Everything that takes us away from it is bad. The difference in the situation we believe to be in individually (the difference in limitations we believe in individually) make us compete to get as close as possible to that one goal we all share.

Emotions.
When you feel something it helps you determine whether something is drawing you closer to the ideal situation or pushing you away. Sometimes there is a positive or negative aspect that you overlooked before feeling that emotion. Once you understand why you feel a certain way, the emotion has usually served its purpose. Acknowledging your emotion like that can really help keep them under control. You shouldn't act on emotions just like that unless you have absolutely no time.
When you take the ideal situation into consideration you find out that acting on emotion usually doesn't lead to a situation closer to the ideal. In my experience it is always better to think about this first.
For example, when you feel angry at someone for doing something wrong, it is usually better to remain calm and solve the situation. Rows can strengthen relationships but can also escalate, scar people and result into more problems. Or when you feel frustrated that something doesn't work it might be a good idea to acknowledge this and take a different approach.

Awareness.
To think something is to be aware of it to some degree. You are somewhat conscious of everything that exists. From the subconscious to the things you are focused on. What we call your experience in your daily existence is a small part of that whole consciousness. There are many more things than that experience that you are aware of to a lesser extend in your daily existence, the things that you don't focus on.
Being more or less aware of something influences the extend to which that thing is experienced, but not its nature. Unless you completely stop being aware of it. For example, when you know that a bird is singing, plugging your ears will not change the fact that the bird is singing as that is still the way you think about it.

Death is an opportunity.
We tend to think of death as something horrible. When you think of it, the only horrible things about death is that it is often accompanied with pain, and that you have to miss the people who died. Apart from that, there isn't much to go on, and not much reason to worry.
If death means we stop experiencing this world through this body, then that may prove to be a great opportunity to release this world and think of a new one. Before you get any weird ideas, there is absolutely no need to seek death at all. At some point it either comes for you without effort on your part, or it won't, in which case you have probably managed to change reality already so you won't need it.
