Doesn't this way of thinking promote arrogance or selfishness?

The thought of being capable of changing the world consciously in a new way, does not promote arrogance or selfishness. If you would believe that the world is as you think it, it makes you as much responsible for all the good as all the bad in this world. This world is ok, but far from perfect. I wouldn't exactly be proud of it.
This world shows how little i understand of it. This is not something to be arrogant about, but something that needs some work.
And the mind isn't the person living on Earth. Realizing that everything is thought, also implies that this entire world is like a mirror of the self. I am as much a part of my self as any other person.
(Take into account the creation of the normal. If I am consistently selfish or arrogant chances are that the people around me will be the same.)
